Father's Day on the Gold Coast
Father's Day lands on Sunday 6 September, and it's an easy one to get right. No big production needed, just somewhere good to eat with the people who turned up for you. Here's how to do it at Tarte.
Brunch in Burleigh
If Dad's a creature of habit, the bakery is the move. Walk in from 6:30am, get there before the Sunday crowd, and order big. The Brisket Bagel with 24hr wagyu, the Bullseye Benny, a coffee from the house blend and a pastry or three from the bench. We're walk-in only, so early is your friend on a Sunday.
Or lunch by the water
For something that lingers, the Beach House restaurant in Currumbin takes bookings, and the menu is built for a long table. The Steak and Frites, the Lobster Roll, the Mediterranean Grilled Barramundi, a Charcuterie board to start. The creek out front, The Hideout above through the fig tree, and a daytime pace that suits a slow Sunday. Book ahead, the good tables go first.
Or bring the cake to him
If you're doing it at home, we make custom cakes to order. Get your order in early in the week so it's ready for the weekend. Whole cakes for the table, made in the same bakery as everything else.
Lock it in
Bookings for the Beach House are through Now Book It. Burleigh stays walk-in. Whatever the plan, Sunday 6 September.
