Baby showers and hens at the Tea Garden

Search for baby shower venues on the Gold Coast and you will find function rooms that could be anywhere: partitioned hotel spaces, surf club corners, rooms that need a lot of balloons to feel like an occasion. The Tea Garden needs almost nothing. It is a garden room beside the Beach House restaurant on Currumbin Creek, flowers and greenery everywhere you look, pots and plants and trailing green, with soft light coming down through the leaves. Guests walk in and the venue has already done the decorating.

How a shower works here

Book a private high tea for up to 24 guests in the garden, seated among the roses with tiered stands of pastries, finger sandwiches and scones from our own kitchen. For a bigger guest list, take the whole Tea Garden for up to 80 guests standing, with packages that run from high tea with beer and prosecco through to canapes and cocktails. You are welcome to bring your own florals, props, musicians and signage, and the garden carries an arch beautifully.

If the weather app says otherwise

The Hideout sits above the site, looking out over the creek through the branches of a 100-year-old fig tree. Air-conditioned, with its own balcony and dedicated staff, it hosts seated events for 12 to 32 guests over a three-hour sitting: a private high tea, or a family-style lunch that moves from cured salmon and chilli crab linguine to a seasonal Berry Tarte. It is the elevated, tucked-away option, and it books out for exactly that reason.

The part the guests remember

Every venue promises catering. Ours is a working bakery and kitchen thirty metres from the table. Scones come out warm with fresh cream and Tarte’s raspberry jam, the sweet tiers carry speciality tartes, brown butter choc chip cookies, muffin tops and our signature crullers, and the speciality teas are blended for the room. If the occasion calls for it, there is Prosecco, Veuve Clicquot and a proper Mimosa.

Booking

Both spaces are pre-booked for functions, so we can hold the space and plan the food around your group. Tell us the date, rough numbers and what you have in mind at hello@tarte.com.au, and we will come back with how to make it work. Details and packages are on our functions page.
